1. Eyeglasses Types

Distance Lenses

Lenses that have one prescription that helps you see far away clearly.

E.g. TV, driving, walking outdoors, objects across the room.

SINGLE VISION

Reading Lenses

Lenses that have one prescription designed specifically for close-up tasks.

E.g. Reading books, sewing, smartphone and tablet use.

STYLE & DEFENSE

Non-Prescription (Plano)

Lenses without vision correction prescription (0.00 power).

E.g. Pure frame fashion, Blue Light screen protection, or non-prescription sunglasses.

2. Lens Index Recommendations

The lens index refers to how efficiently light is bent through the lenses to correct your vision. The higher the lens index number, the thinner and lighter the lenses are for the same prescription strength.

This matters most for stronger prescriptions where lower index lenses can end up thick and heavy around frame edges.

Standard Package Included:

Our standard frame package includes the basic 1.56 index lens. All Nomi lenses include scratch-resistance and anti-reflection coatings free of charge, enhancing vision by reducing glare and surface reflections.

~15% thinner than 1.56. Available in 1.61 Standard for regular framed styles, and high-tensile 1.61 MR-8 for drill-mounted rimless frames.

1.61 MR-8: High-tensile resin required for drill-mounted rimless frames

Standard Sun Tints

Available in 1.61 index for rimless frames (or 1.61 / 1.67 for full/semi-rimless frames).

Solid Tint: Consistent, uniform tint across the entire lens.
Gradient Tint: Darker at the top fading to lighter at the bottom.

Polarised Sunglasses

Available starting from 1.56, 1.61, and 1.67 index options.

Filters reflected glare off roads, water, and snow for enhanced contrast and reduced eye fatigue.

Structural Note:

Polarisation is not available for semi-rimless or rimless frames due to the risk of delamination or cracking when drilling holes or cutting edge grooves into laminated polarised film.

4. Lens Coatings & Extras

Signature Multi-Coat

Included at no extra cost with every pair of clear Nomi glasses. Combines Hard Coat Scratch Resistance + Anti-Reflective Coating for transparent prescription lenses.

Hard Coat (Scratch Resistance)

Increases resistance to everyday scratches and surface wear, helping keep lenses clearer for longer.

Anti-Reflective Coating

Minimises distracting glare from digital screens, bright lights, and night driving for comfortable vision.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE

Blue Light Filter

Designed to filter high-energy blue light emitted by digital screens and LED lighting. Recommended for individuals spending long hours on computers, tablets, or smartphones.

Please note: Blue light filtering lenses are designed to improve visual comfort during screen use. Regular screen breaks remain essential for optimal eye health.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE

Photochromic Light-Adjusting Lenses

Automatically adapt to UV rays, staying clear indoors and darkening when exposed to outdoor sunlight. Provides seamless all-day comfort without switching glasses.

Note: Standard photochromic lenses will not darken significantly inside cars as windshields block UV rays required for darkening.
